Position:  Intern Assistant Director with the West Coast Civic Ballet for the 2008-2009 academic year

Mission Statement: The WCCB is a not-for-profit arts organization whose mission is to provide quality performance opportunities for area artists in classical and contemporary dance and to enhance community appreciation in the visual and performing arts.

Job Description:  A student could potentially design this position as an independent study project.  It encompasses various aspects of arts administration for a not for profit organization:

1. Works  directly with Board Members and Artistic Director
2. Interfaces with potential funding sources
3. Assists in Writing Grants
4. Assists in coordinating Productions

Qualifications: WCCB is seeking a motivated and energetic individual who works well with the community.  A letter of recommendation from a faculty member and at least two personal references are required. Dance experience is appreciated but not required.
 

Hours required: negotiable
